High humidity during Kolkata's monsoon months creates ideal conditions for fungal diseases like powdery mildew, leaf spot and root rot. The good news: most of these are preventable with three simple habits.
First, water at the base of the plant, not over the foliage, and do it in the morning so leaves dry before evening. Second, space your pots and grow bags so air can move between them — crowded plants trap moisture. Third, start a preventive copper-based fungicide spray every 2–3 weeks once the rains begin, rather than waiting for symptoms to appear.
If you do spot powdery white coating or dark leaf spots, remove the affected leaves immediately and switch to a systemic fungicide for a curative dose. Visit the shop with a photo of the affected leaves and we'll match the right product for your plant.
